VENICE BEACH CITY GUIDE PART 2: Little Scoop Shop of Heaven
Do you know what today is? It’s only my favorite made-up holiday of the year… NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY! It’s like they went ahead and made your excuse official.
We celebrated this glorious day by heading to our favorite scoop emporium west of La Cienega: Salt & Straw!!!
This Oregon-created mini-heaven of all things cold & creamy specializes in farm-raised ingredients and far-out flavors (to go with our 70s-inspired style, of course).
Their flavors are so incredible that I can be a lazy blogger and just list a few, and you’ll still want to devour them immediately:
Wild-Foraged Berry Sherbet
Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons
Meyer Lemon Buttermilk w/ Blueberries
Salted, Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese (for the savory-seekers)
This is the kind of ice cream that’s meant to be totally savored… but not too slowly, because the sidewalk does not deserve such decadence.
