Every season, there’s a trend that takes over the denim world—one that you see on every blogger and stylesetter, and all over the pages of your fave fashion sites. This summer, it’s all about the tuxedo stripe.

With inspiration stemming from, you guessed it, the classic men’s tuxedo, and hints of varsity and racing vibes, these stripes are the perfect upgrade to your basic blues. It’s actually amazing how much this simple side detail can take a pair from classic to completely of-the-moment. Vertical stripes in any form are also known for their elongating effect, and these are no exception (translation: legs for days). Whether it’s double or single stripes, dark blue indigo or a contrasting pop of color, you really can’t go wrong.

Case in point: our Vintage Slim, a new fit addition to our summer women’s and plus-size collections. It’s got that live-in-all-day mid rise, a vintage fit that has just the right amount of slouch and a slim leg for a little extra room around the ankle. Finished with a bold dark indigo rinse side panel, it should be obvious by now why we’re obsessing over it, no? Style tip: this pair is great for casual offices where you can wear denim but still want to look semi-professional (you always gotta impress the boss, after all). Shop it for women here and plus sizes here.

We also know you obviously love Aiko, so we added double side-stripes and a so-now step hem to one of our newest summer arrivals. If you haven’t tried Aiko, it’s got a classic mid rise, and this one is finished with an ankle skinny leg (there’s a reason we refer to it as ‘the perfect jean’). Try it here.
